Alexander Ericksen, MD

Dr. Alexander Ericksen is an internal medicine physician at St. Francis Primary Care Continuity Clinic, where he provides comprehensive primary care focused on prevention, early diagnosis, and the long-term management of both acute and chronic medical conditions. As part of the St. Francis teaching clinic, Dr. Ericksen works closely with resident physicians, helping train the next generation of doctors while ensuring patients benefit from a collaborative care model that incorporates multiple clinical perspectives.

Dr. Ericksen was drawn to internal medicine because of the specialty’s breadth and versatility. He enjoys caring for patients with a wide variety of medical concerns and values the opportunity to develop lasting relationships while guiding patients through every stage of their healthcare journey. His approach emphasizes evidence-based medicine, patient education, preventive care, and early intervention to help patients maintain their health and avoid serious illness or hospitalization. Dr. Ericksen believes successful patient care begins with listening. He strives to build trust through honesty, professionalism, and clear communication, ensuring patients understand their diagnoses, treatment options, and healthcare goals. By setting realistic expectations and creating individualized care plans, he empowers patients to take an active role in improving their quality of life.

Prior to his medical career, Dr. Ericksen graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) and served as an Army physician. His commitment to service continues today through his dedication to caring for the community and improving access to high-quality primary care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ericksen enjoys reading, painting, and watching movies. A fun fact many patients may not know is that he originally considered becoming a software engineer before pursuing a career in healthcare.
